Sleep Aid Liquid Gels

Benadryl, which one to use for sleep? gelcap, capsule, tabs?

I've read that benadryl is a good non rx sleeping aid. I went to their website and found they have 5 different kinds. Liquid Gel, tab, dissolve strips, capgels and capsules. Which one would I need. How many would I need to take (maximum), and is it safe to use this everynight.

Thanks

Joe, please do not take Benedryl at all. It's VERY addictive and dangerous. You might take one tab tonight and it'll work, but it won't work anymore in 2 weeks. Then you'll need 2. Before you know it you're hooked on a handful.

The same goes for ANY over the counter medication. Tylenol PM, Advil PM, Nyquil, or any antihistamine. Those are ALL meant for when you're sick.

Joe, please try one of these safe choices:
Warm milk. Please don't knock it till you try it! lol Warm milk (you can add honey to taste, or you can drink it cold if you don't like it warm.) Milk has tryptophan in it, like turkey. That's a chemical that is very calming and makes you sleepy.

Or, buy the vitamin Melatonin. It's sold everywhere. It's probably cheapest at Walmart. 3Mg's before bed should knock you out.

If you have doubts or concerns, ask any pharmacist. They are so smart and helpful.

If you really have a hard time falling asleep, see your doctor. There are 3 relatively new meds available that are safe. Lunesta, Rozerem, and Ambien CR. The "CR" means that it not only makes you fall asleep, but it KEEPS you sleeping through the night.

Thanks for listening. I know what I'm saying! Best of luck to you! ~_~
